We went to Weiner Haus at Porta di Roma in Rome, Italy. First, we were surprised that they not only did not serve sauerkraut, they did not even know what sauerkraut was. Secondly, and much worse than that, we had a problem at time of payment. We asked for our bill and were told to take our table number to the register. I said that I would prefer a written bill. They said they don' t do that. My wife and I shared a meal for 7.80 Euros and had a couple of nonalcoholic drinks. I reluctantly went to the register and was told that the bill was 53.30. I almost fell on the floor and said we only had one meal. He mumbled something and said the bill was 14.40 Euros. I asked for a written bill again and was told that I would get one after I paid. I did so and noticed that when I finally got my bill, the total included a forced gratuity of 10 % that I would never have given willingly. They did not remove it. Very unprofessional!!!
