Don't even try to clean your car yourself. Get your car professionally detailed before you try to ship it back to the States. They say that you can clean it yourself \with a rag and an air compressor\, but after getting my car turned away three times I just bit the bullet and got it professionally done at the Q8 down the road.
Had my car detailed and ready to go, they failed it for the e-brake check which is holding your car in place in drive and reverse until it's above 1k rpm. I did it myself and it held until over 3k in both.
