Great example of ancient Roman theatre unfortunately, it was closed despite the clear information that it should have been opened... Worth to see if you are somewhere around this place.

Defo worth going.you don't have to pay 5 euro to go into the theatre as you can get the same views from the street.just walk through the big door of the town take a right turn and 1 min walk and you get a nice view of it all

An absolute gem! Voltara is Rich with history, beautiful views, and of course delicious food. This was a perfect day trip with my family. Plenty of scenery for taking pictures or letting time slow down. Step into history at every shop if you want to get any gifts, leather, cheese, meat, and of course wine that can be shipped anywhere. It is a beautiful drive and high probability for a romantic day.

Nice small theatre, but without access to stands like you can im many other roman theaters in Italy. This one you can only look from distance. Single ticket is 5 euro, it is much better to buy combi ticket for more attractions on Volterra. Only three stars because of plastic garbage on site and uncut hedge, such things should not happen.

Unfortunately we couldn't visit this place because we arrived there ten minutes before closing time (17.30) so they didn't let us in. But we could take wonderful pictures of it from the street above the theatre & it really looks amazing!
