As far as Wedding Venues go, this one is a DREAM! Villa Balbiano is one of our most requested venues to sketch for our Couples’ Wedding Stationery.

We booked, paid a 50% deposit to secure in January prior to the pandemic. The wedding was scheduled in June when there were travel restrictions by the US and Italy. Unfortunately, for my daughter we has to cancel her wedding. The airline cancelled our scheduled flight and fully refunded us our airfare. There are two provisions in the contract that clearly state the given the pandemic we were entitled to receive our deposit. This reprehensible landlord has displayed more standard business ethics and has refused to reimburse my daughter her deposit. I appears that she needs my daughters 10k more than doing the right thing. I will tell you we don’t conduct business or treat visitors to the USA in this kind of despicable manner. I wouldn’t do business with this landlord if it were the last place on earth. If she would do this to my daughter under the pandemic, there is no telling how she will treat you, probably won’t get your security deposit back. I highly discourage booking this venue for any type of special occasion. How convenient in the landlords response she fails to mention paragraph 10 of the contract which addresses cancellation due Force majeure Event or local government doesn’t allow which during this pandemic was totally applicable. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic and asking guest to spend their hard earned money to potentially expose them to the virus “rescheduling” just isn’t a casual option as you suggest. This wasn’t a birthday party ! Not to mention the fact that that we would have had to quarantine 14 days upon arrival. What’s your answer to that ? In addition, I know that my daughter isn’t the only couple that this has happened to so buyer beware.

Make sure to check the time of the year to visit. It opens mid March - mid November only. And even the opening season, it is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays, except holidays. The gate to the garden is closed. We didn’t even get a glimpse of the building :( we didn’t see the visiting time anywhere. So here i take a photo from the entrance gate.
