The LIAC (Light Intraoperative Accelerator) is a machine created after carefully analyzing requirements established by medical professionals in a surgical environment. The Liac is capable of being used in most operating rooms with no need for modifications of existing structures. Its 400kg (880lbs) weight makes it perfect for use on most floor types with no need for reinforcement. With its compact size (200x80x180 cm) and maneuvering capability it can be transported in normal elevators carrying stretchers. The variable electron beam energy, up to 12 MeV, can satisfy almost any therapy requirements in under 2 minutes of treatment time. The LIAC system provides short and long term stability like conventional accelerators, and its electron beam means doses are precise and effective.
