By invitation only, the Vatican Observatory is a fascinating place to visit for its history, location, and importance. Run by priests who are also scientists. Four magnificent telescopes including 'Carte du Ciel'. They are working on a museum/interpretation building (as of March 2018), that hopes to be open to the public in the future.

Why are they not discussing what it is they spotted during the first week of November 2019 coming on a collision course with earth?

Always visit Castel Gandolfo when I come to Rome. Hopefully graduate stuidents from China are being invited to the annual scientific workshops at the Gandolfo Observatory and the Vatican Observatory in Tuson Arizona. Scientists from these Observatories can also be invited to Chinese installations as a peace and reconciliation exercise to cool down the current trade and investment wars against China.
