The botanical garden of Padua is one of the must attraction of the city. It’s situated near Prato della Valle. It a magic place where you can spend some hours like a day with your family, friends or alone. An awesome spot where you can relax, find some peace. Suitable for family, photographer and nature lover. It’s full of different plants in their own environment: Tropical forest, Mediterranean, desert and so on. Highly recommended.

Lovely botanical garden in the heart of Padua. Given its historical importance providing research for medicine and showcasing a wide range of plant life, this is a worthwhile stop if you’re in the city. Some comments mention that it’s rather poorly maintained and doesn’t have a wide depth of offerings, but I would disagree. This is one of the oldest botanical gardens and the current footprint was probably limited and was probably considered quite large for its time. In that sense, it does feel like a throwback. Yes, it’s not super polished but the specimens we saw were all really beautiful and included cacti, mosses, aquatic plants, carnivorous plants. During the visit, we saw staff maintaining the grounds and taking care of the debris from the larger trees. Garden is very walkable and is connected though a few walkways to another building which was holding some conventions when I visited. Looked educational and was attended by university students. It’s also fun to be able to get up close to a cluster of pitcher plants and see them digesting insects is not something you get to do everyday. After all this time, still a great place for observing, learning and inspiration.

If you haven't been there already, you should book your online ticket and go to visit the Padua Botanical Garden now. It is not only the most ancient Botanical Garden of the world (built on 1545) but is also fully accessible. The new Garden of Biodiversity, opened on 2014, is an unbelievable experience. The garden have an area for visually impaired people, with Braille plates and the possibility of touching the plants, for a tactile experience. Perfect for children from 4 to 124 years, is a refreshing experience on summertime

Amazing Botanic Garden in the center of Padova, near Prato della Valle. Very well organized and the plants are kept very well with name tags. Cheep and free for University Student of Padova. Suggested.

I didn't have match time to visit this fantastic botanical garden with a great variety off mature very old trees of different kind. The place over the years has large collection of the world natural spices well kept. It is surprising how this amazing place lives in the centre of the town, attracting numerous visitors of different kind from international travels to family. The place is also very popular with juvenile students. On the site inside the tickets office is possible to buy souvenirs. The staffs helpfully English speaking. Visiting this enjoyable garden time flying very quickly .I will go back with more time to spend.
