It is a gem of winery located half-way between our drive from Bellagio to Cinque Terre (one hour or so from Milan). We were hosted by the very hospitable owner Elisa who showed us around the vineyards and the wine making operation. This was followed by a round of wine tasting accompanies with their cheese and salami. Since I had to drive, I stuck to tasting their whites only (the pours were generous). The Timorasso wines are the star here - full bodied and delicious on a warm day. The cheese and salami were excellent as well. Since I was traveling with carry-on baggage, I was able to buy only one bottle of the il Montino and enjoyed it for a couple of days. I will have to look around for it in the US now.
