Rip off. Do NOT take a white van taxi!!!! We got the info from a local that the taxi from the Harbour to the airport costs 25 Euros. Once in the taxi the taxi driver asked me what I had paid when I got here. I admit, I was in vacation and not on „everyone might rip me off mode“. So I stated that we did not take the taxi when we got there. Guess what the fare turned out to be. 45 Euros!!!!! There was a taximeter running, but I’m sure e choose the „full van“ pricing. Possibly the vans cost more. So keep away of the vans. Learning 1: Always ask for price BEFORE getting into cap. Learning 2: if the driver asks you what you paid, say 20. Learning 3: make sure to take picture of taxi and taxi company to post on google on case this happens to you so others might be spared.

Same as the other reviews the white taxis RIP you OFF. We were told 25 charged 38. Get a bus or be robust at the start and give them the right amount. Bus although longer journey time won’t wind you up.
AVOID NAPLES TAXIS AT ALL COST. Took a taxi from Naples train station to the airport, it was supposed to be 20 Euros, asked the driver if he accepts credit cards, he said 'yes' very confidently. At the airport, he demanded he needs cash only, when I pressed him on the credit card machine, he conveniently forgot English and started talking in Italian. ATMs in the Naples airport barely work anyways and since my flight was getting close, I gave him 20 Euros when the taxi meter said 15.30 Euros. The driver then started demanding I pay him 5 euros per luggage and now the bill came to be 30 Euros. I just threw a 20 Euro bill at him and left with my luggage, did not care what the driver kept saying. I took a short taxi all over Italy, everyone was amazing but Naples, and upon reading reviews, this is common in Naples, avoid them.
I should have read the advices beforehand. Those taxi guys from the airport really take advantages of you. Especially if you come at night and with family. He offered 35 euros for 4 km ! I asked him to use the meter. Then he went opposite direction. Instead of 4 km it was then 12 km. At the end he charged us about 28 Euros. If I was alone I would have called the police. But my family was tired so I decided to let him go. This was not good experience and government should control them better. This was not the only bad experience we made in Italy. If not for the beauty of the country the nice beaches and all the other nice 99% people I would not go to Italy anymore.
We asked to go to Pompei from the train station after having research the prices at around 35-40 euro. The young man driving the cab asked us where we were from and when we said US he said the ride would be 100.00 euros. I didn’t want to argue because I could see him kicking us out of the cab and taking our bags. I wish I had read these reviews before we decided to get a taxi. I would have hired a car it would have probably been cheaper and much more pleasant. Don’t take a taxi in Naples.
BE CAREFUL! AVOIDE AIRPORT TAXIS. If you do decide to use a taxi, do not go until the price is agreed. We were overcharged! Airport to old city centre should be 21 euros, that is the official rate. Remember to check the machine when paying by card. Our cab driver charged us 33 euros from the airport to the city centre port! Don’t make the same mistake as us, we did not check what he charged until we got to the hotel. You’re better off getting a pre-booked shuttle with your hotel or other transport
Ok, never listen to me never take this taxis. They will charge you 3 times the price (30 for 10 mins ride). Use a Taxi app
Service is totally unacceptable, a rip-off, they take advantage of the tourists to make money unfairly. The details I could get in the photo I took: it looks like the taxi CP number is 22 22 and the taxi plate is DZ 671 KW. Last Saturday 29th of June my husband and I arrived to Naples airport around 22:00 and took a taxi to Pozzuoli. The driver did not give us his name and did not tell us at the beginning the price of the total taxi journey. When we arrived to Pozzuoli, he asked us the address of our hotel (hotel Neronensis, Via Pergolesi 29) and we gave it to him, but he started driving us wrongly around for approximately 20 minutes. When we arrived to the hotel, he told us to pay him 100 euro, when that journey from the airport costs approximately half of that (around 50 euro). We asked him to explain us the price and he said it's because the journey price is double as much from the airport to Pozzuoli and the original price of the journey was 47 euro but he had to charge us double. He did not give us a receipt and did not give us back the money change. I can understand the rules, but that taxi driver is dishonest, because he did not tell us from the beginning all this information plus he drove us in the wrong direction for approximately 20 minutes in order to make more money. It is therefore unacceptable how some people like that taxi driver treat the tourists, so I hope the employer has a conversation with him about ethics and about being an honest person and not an idiot person.
