Very beautiful experience, in this place typical meet (a lot of) knowledge!
I still can't get over the fact that for 4 starters, 2 pasta dishes, 2 bottles of water, 2 glasses of wine and one coffee we spent 170. This is Bib Gourmand in rural Sardinia. The quality of the fish starters was good, although the pasta dishes were not exceptional. Service was overly formal and not at all personable. What has really annoyed me, though, is the fact that not only was there no menu to look at (which was justified by saying that the menu changes every day), but prices were not advertised or mentioned at any point. The description of the menu was long, complicated and incomplete. We ended up choosing a lot of items we wouldn't have chosen (and paid extra for) if things had been a bit clearer. You cannot mix fish or meat starters at the same table. How pretentious is that? I have eaten in many restaurants of different levels around the world and this is a first for me. I won't go back for sure.
Highly recommended and worth a detour, great service, amazing food. We had the chefs menu, which was very extended for 45 euros, an incredibly good deal. The food was well balanced with enough acidity to balance out the more heavy dishes, combinations such as wood pigeon with mulberries, perfect veal liver and my favourite the \poor\ man signature dish, bread tomatoes poached egg and black truffle.
We’ve found this little jewel at viamichelin.de and drove 50 km just to eat there (June 2018). It was worth it! We had the chef’s degustation menu with 8 courses and it was paradise. Highly recommended! We had the meat version but they also offer it with fish. All dishes combined the local traditions, the herbs of Sardinia and the classic tastes with a new interpretation, modern techniques and a lot of creativity and experience. Every course was well explained by the incredibly knowledgeable waitress (in English) and they also served us the fitting wines to each course - that were of excellent quality as well! The chef came to every table himself and spoke with the guests. All that for a price that was very affordable considering the excellent quality of products and preparation.
