I've been learning Italian for a year in the UK and wanted to do an intensive course to improve my Italian. I was going to Cefalù anyway so I booked onto a 5 day course having done some research online. I'm so glad I picked Solemar! Our teacher Giulia was fantastic - so engaging and friendly. We had classes 9-11.30am every morning and we were encouraged to speak Italian as soon as we stepped through the door. Covid rules were in place - temperature taken on arrival and masks worn all the time. I felt very safe. My confidence in speaking Italian has improved enormously. I've already booked to go back in May 2021!

I took a two week course in Cefalù and also took 8 weeks of private classes online with Solemar Academy. Fantastic! Both experiences exceeded my expectations. The entire staff along with my teachers, Simone and Eliana, were prepared, knowledgeable, patient and, best of all, kind and fun! The curriculum was tailored to my level and needs and they were happy and thorough in their explanations and in answering questions. My time in Cefalù was over the top wonderful with amazing activities to help acquaint me with the area, the history, the culture, the food, and Italian in general. I can't really say enough about what a great experience it was. The evidence is that I was instilled with a sense of confidence that encouraged me to keep trying to speak and learn the beautiful language and continue my studies after I left.

Over the summer of 2020 I attended online lessons through Solemar Academy. The experience was superb. Under Giuseppe's expert and enthusiastic guidance, I moved forward in my knowledge of Italian. The curriculum and pedagogy at Solemar is contextual, taking advantage of various avenues to approach the learning of language. Giuseppe often included lessons on Sicilian culture, social practices, past and current political situations, cuisine, as contexts in which to practice grammar and conversation. I highly recommend Solemar Academy!

Had the best time at Solemar! Cefelu is a very quiet but friendly little town, Solemar has very kind experienced professional and friendly staff, my teacher was one of the best teachers I've ever had! I learnt so much with her :) The staff make you feel so welcome, the place has such a personal touch and the accomadation was awesome. Valerio also makes a killer bbq. Can't recommend them highly enough, Thanks Solemar! Jade xx
