Most historical monuments gone by time. The Greek theatre and tomb of Archimedes are most interesting places to see here.

The park is much smaller then expected, various paths are currently closed for tourists (e.g. around the Roman amphitheatre), the access to the Greek Theatre is also very limited and the it is much smaller that the one of Taormina or Catania. Nevertheless, the Ear of Dionysius cave is stunning and defiantly the highlight of the place. For the price of 10 euro these guys should combine it with the local ancient history museum (you can get a discount but its not included). Taormina and Catania host more impressive ancient theaters.
It is a fabulous place. I was totally amazed and . The ancient greek theatre is in very good . The whole park is good maintained. The Stone holes are really fascinating. The Roman Theater is also fascinating. It is an overwhelming place full of ancient History and Inspiration!
Recommended site to visit for the Greek and Roman History as Syracuse was one of the most important cities in the Mediterranean in 500BC. You will see a complete Greek Theatre, later modified by the Romans and a Roman Ampitheatre similar to that in Rome( Colosseum) but without the seating. The Latomie ( caves) are also worth a visit particularly the \Ear of Dionysius\ where the local stone was mined for building purposes. We would recommend driving directly to the Park and then take your car down into Siracusa to explore Ortygia and the Temple of Apollo. It is a good 40 minutes walk between Ortygia and the Archaeological Park with not much of interest between. Unfortunately COVID 19 distancing has reversed the flow from the original guided tour meaning that finding your way round the site without a map is difficult as you \enter\ through the exit in places.
The signs on the route are misleading and some of the most interesting attractions are completely closed without them telling you beforehand. Otherwise, the journey was very enjoyable and an essential visit for those of you with a passion for Ancient Greece. By the way, one of the caves you can't enter and the one you can isn't to be considered \cave exploration\ due to it not being that large. Would also have wished, that you could enter the arena as if you were the gladiator.
