It is a very famous building as a symbol of Piemonte. Inside of building is amazing. Can't imagine how to build it! The view also very nice! There's picnic place out side of Sacra di San Michele. For family also recommend.

Absolutely outstanding place. Part of the older portion of the basilica still stands to the side of the main building, which has been built expertly into the rock face. This was one of the most constantly amazing parts of the basilica. The architecture is breathtaking, as are the views. A beautiful place to visit, for the non-religious as well as believers. Don't miss it.

Sacra of San Michele is an ancient abbey built between 983 and 987 on the top of mount Pirchiriano, 40 km from Turin. From it’s towers you can admire Turin and a breathtaking view of the Val di Susa. Inside the main Church of the Sacra, dating from the twelfth century, are buried members of House of Savoy (one of the oldest royal family in the world).

Located in a wonderful high place, very easy to reach it by car, it offers an astonishing view of the surroundings. If you have a clear sky you'll be able to see the mountains and the valley around. The place is pretty nice, a piece of history and architecture. Nearby there is a small coffee shop where you can eat or drink something.

Superb location, great views, magical environment plus all the inspiring atmosphere surrounding Humberto Ecco’s The Name of the Rose story creation. Just a tip: Get your camera prepared on the drive up there as the nicest views can only be taking from the road.
