Quite new restaurant (only 3 months old up to now, Jan. 2019), but really fabulous. Recommend especially for the ones who loves raw seafood (scampi, shrimp, oyster and some others fishes). Other dishes such as pasta are of course higher than average. No need to talk how kind the staffs are, cuz they know how to serve from the deep of their heart :)

My mother, aunt and I were greeted nicely and given one of the best seats in the house, by the window, overlooking the palazzo. We were surprised to be the only customers there, considering the busyness of the surrounding competition. It’s a great location and from the outside looks like a hole in the wall, but the inside is very impressive. We were gifted a glass of Prosecco and enjoyed our Chianti and conversation. However, after the delicious bruschetta appetizer, our experience took a turn for the worse, very unfortunately. The chef did his best to provide a decent meal that we would enjoy. I wish we could say we liked the food, but sadly, it was unexpectedly inedible. Some of the seafood tasted expired, the not-so-flavorful flavors were “off”, the texture of the pastas/risotto were undercooked and the fish was mushy and bland. Some of our plates (even plates without shrimp) were garnished with the carcass of a shrimp head/thorax, which didn’t correlate with the entree nor did it look attractive. The restaurant tried to comp our ticket, but we still left money for our wine, etc. We are unhappy to report a negative experience, but it’s the truth, as we know it. We hope they will get a better chef/kitchen manager and take necessary measures to be a better restaurant. The best of luck to Sapore di Mare Ristorante.
