The hut is located deep in the heart of the Parco Nazionale gran Paradiso. What a pity that a road has been paved after the opening of this majestic hut in the early 50s. The cabin has run by one of the most interesting people I've ever met, Sandro. He is a wise and welcoming person; The day we were there, during dinner time, he sat with all the guests he had over, chatting of several topics (like mountain hikes, politics, history, philosophy, and so on). I appreciated the hut and the smell you feel once you get in, the smell of wood, the smell of a lived cabin. The food was overall tasty.

The place is in a good spot and the staff is very friendly. But it is VERY expensive given the road for access they have. Moreover though the water is scarce for the shower (3 extra ) you waste a lot for every flush in the sink!
The old-fashioned hut. Wood, quiet, books and absolutely STUNNING views. Little people and so it is a very well kept secret. Loved it
Ci siamo fermati qui per pranzo ,dopo una gita in moto tra amici, abbiamo mangiato benissimo, tagliare salumi e formaggi locali top! Polenta con cervo anche! Dolci fatti da loro,come lo strudel buonissimo!! Prezzi modici, interni molto caratteristici, raggiungibile a piedi agevolmente dalla strada principale,vista sui laghi sottostanti fantastica! Consiglio di prenotare in anticipo.
Pernottamento: settembre 2019. E' un rifugio e si vede, anche se le camere sono relativamente curate anche se vecchie. Il gestore è certamente legato ad una concezione tradizionale della montagna e del rifugio, il che è difendibile, ma paragonato ad altre strutture del CAI, in questa la cifra offerta in cambio di una cena non certo entusiasmante e di un normale servizio di mezza pensione era veramente spropositato, specie per la comodità per il rifugio nel rifornimento. La posizione, d'altro canto, è stupenda ed è certamente fra i rifugi posti in uno dei luoghi più belli di questa fetta di Alpi.
