A place just behind the known touristic area. Great meat (!!! Always 1.3kg,3,70/4,70 for 100gram) meat!!! A must try in Toscany! Waiter didn’t understand English that much, wasn’t patience or so. But fortunately enough you don’t need to eat him but rather the meat. Did I tell you the meat was awesome? Good price quality, nice atmosphere of the area as well. My recommendation for sure!

I have been in many restaurants in Siena, and I can say that this Osteria is one of the best. Cosy environment, very good service, excellent food, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place.
Small and cosy place with homemade dishes. Pici, Rooster and Tiramisu outstanding
I can highly recommend Osteria del Gatto - Siena: Home baked bread (best so far), all dishes were local from local ingredients, seasonal and exceptional good quality. Off the beaten path, nearly no non Italian tourists (most don't like the walk I guess). Small, cosy place. Hand written menu and copied, so a bit hard to read, also because they use slang, waiter speaks a bit English but not much. Anything from the menu is good. The chef sometimes makes some time to come to the table and explain (his English is ok). There is no wine list, but a selection of bottles on a high shelf which you can choose from. We have been here a few times the last years and the quality hasn't changed. Prices for those who care: Incredibly low. The wine for instance was 29 euro. Online I checked 4 websites selling it between 24 and 30 euro. Dishes are also under priced. Not the standard limoncello, but cedrina.
We went for a simple dinner with friends. The place is quite small, a bit hard to find, simple but cozy. Nothing to praise or complain about. We had appetizers to share and a meat-based main dish. Both were simply prepared and presented but quality was good. We also had homemade typical sweets, which were also quite nice. Wine selection isn't huge but they have a decent selection of the common ones from the region and a few sweet wines to pair with desserts. Service is nice but a bit slow on account of the few people on the staff. Prices are fair and on the low end.
Absolutely delicious authentic cooking. The service was great and they were very helpful in explaining the dishes to us. Unforgettable experience!
Lovely and cosy restaurant. The food was good and the staff was friendly. I would recommend it. The menu is simple but tasty.
I was served the wrong dish. I told them what I ordered and they took the plate back. About 10/15 minutes later, the waitress comes back telling me that what I had ordered had run out, with no apology and no manner, just poor communication all over. There was nothing else I fancied on the menu so didn’t have anything else, I left still hungry! The rest of the food looked alright, the pasta my relative had ordered came not very warm and the desserts looked like they had been sitting in the window for days, would definitely not recommend!!
