What an amazing museum. Me and my partner had taken a 3 day break to Milan prior to the Covid pandemic and were struggling to decide what to do in such little time, having already visited the Duomo we asked some local taxi drivers for their recommendations and I'm so glad we did! Having been recommended this museum I was somewhat sceptical due to my minimal Italian vocabulary and a museum being somewhat quite reliant on the use of verbal explanations but the museum had both Italian and English descriptions for the exhibits and all the guides and volunteers of the museum spoke amazing English. The submarine and plane exhibit were my personal favourites but it was all round an amazing day (and it will take the full day to fully experience the museum) it is a must for anyone travelling to Milan!

Worth visiting. 8 hrs if you're interacting and reading everything displayed

Really loved my time here. The displays were extremely interesting and educative. I can imagine if you have children that it’s interactive enough to keep them busy. The topics of the d exhibitions were different than other science museums i have been too. I especially enjoyed the particle physics exhibition and modern food. You can easily spend 8 hours here and not get bored! If you want to go inside the submarine you need to book it before, sadly we were not aware of that. Also the entrance is a bit hard to find

I'll give this review more from the perspective of my young son, who loved watching all the trains, huge boats, airplanes, the submarine and the helicopter (this time we mainly visited the transport section of the museum). The museum is changing and evolving, and now offers more and more interactive sections (though some were closed because of Covid-19. It used the be all about watching but no touching, and thankfully this is changing. Keep on going this way! Especially if you have children, it's worth the visit and you'll probably need to decide on what to see, because it's really big.

Must see in Milan, if you have interest in technology and engineering! Children will love it: cars, trains, submarines, spacecrafts and all related to such subjects. Plan several hours for the visit. They have a rest/picnic area to stop and have a bite. All nicely organized. Would love to come back!

Wow! This place was amazing, I had to drag myself away. Adult and kid friendly. English and Italian descriptions on everything. Covers ancient ages, modern science, moon landing, electronics, global warming and pollution, local and Italian history, the industrial age, and so much more. I actually got lost and couldn't find my way out. Has a real full size submarine out the back so make sure to check that out!

This has to be the biggest, best and most diverse science museum I have been to. Tickets were 7.50 for students and 10 for adults, well worth the price. Coming from an engineering background myself, there was loads of information and data on each exhibit that you are looking at. There's a range of areas such as food, space, recycling, mining, materials and aircraft. Loads of interesting artifacts that you can play with. For the sheer size of this place, there is enough things to easily spend 3/4 hours here. My highlight of Milan is this place easily. Downsides - quite hard to find, not many sign posts to show you the way from the local train station and also the toilets (men's) were not in good shape.

If you are interested in technologies and various types of vehicles, you will have to allow at least 3-4 hours for this museum. We had no idea what to expect and it was a bit confusing at the beginning but soon we were smitten with the exhibitions. The museum has a section dedicated to Leonardo's works and it houses the world's largest collection of models, made on his drawings. Beside that one, there are many other different sections covering all aspects of world's industry with lots of items on display - Transport, Space, Telecommunications, Energy, Steel and Rubber Processing, etc. The museum is arranged in a former monastery, it covers a huge area and houses its vast collections in several buildings. Very interesting was the guided tour in the "Enrico Totti" submarine. The ex-naval officer who was in charge of the tour, gave all the information in Italian and in English for all the visitors. In one sentence, the museum is awesome and recommended for science enthusiasts and curious, inquisitive children of all ages.
