This trattoria was exceptional. The location was lovely, the food was very reasonably priced and it upholds my memories of Lucca as a place to come get simple but absolutely delicious food. I will make the trip from Florence again to eat here.
Recommended by Daily Telegraph. Quite busy on Wednesday. Excellent meal very good service and value for money. Typical Tuscan quisine would endorse whole heartedly.
We’ve been here for lunch and came back a few days later for dinner. We were very happy with both meals and with the service we received. Our waitresses both spoke very limited English but still were able to make recommendations and understand us. The food is very flavorful. Don’t skip dessert, the creme brûlée is as good as it gets, and the sweet vegetable pie it to die for. We only have 8 more days in Lucca, but I feel we will be back again before we leave!
Had high expectations for this place, but it disappointed in most of the aspects. Pappa al pomodoro was the star of the evening, really tasty, while the evening started to go in decline straight after it. Arrosto di vitello (special dish of the day) was way too salty and just look at it. No presentation, canteen like dish. Cake plain no depth in flavour. Tiramisu on the other hand had a strong coffee flavour to it. We ended up being disappointed about our experience.
