On our last night in Italy we decided to take a chance and visit a restaurant that was just outside the busy parts of the city. From a hotel near the train station, it was only about an 18 minute taxi ride. It was one of the best decisions we had made the entire trip! This restaurant is a gem. It was by far our best meal in Italy. We tried Paolo's authentic Roman lasagna and renowned chicken dish - perfection. The seafood appetizer was also to die for. Of course, the wine and desserts were great. The chef was very helpful in helping us navigate a dairy allergy in the party, too. Even if not for the amazing food, the atmosphere was perfect. The lighting was nice and soft, tables were set with candles, music was enjoyable, and because it was a chilly winter evening, we enjoyed the crackling from a real fire in the dining room fireplace. Please make sure you check this place out! On top of everything, the prices were wildly reasonable for the quality of the food and the overall experience. You won't be disappointed!
If you want to experience imperial roman food and excellent hospitality from an experienced chef and a published chef then you should go here and eat some of the dishes from imperial Rome. We had a fantastic experience and it was just so amazing to eat imperial roman food. But to get the education around it was spectacular. It felt like the best ever history lesson of my life.
Splendid garden, great welcome and service. The whole team was so inviting that we went twice in a row ! If you want to change your daily decor or your are holidaying in Rome, definitely a place to go !!! ... and so peaceful! Complimenti d'avvero !
