Website: http://en.foscamun.com/organization-chart/ PROJECT The annual FOSCAMUN project was born thanks to cooperation between Carol Baur Internacional of Quéretaro and Mexico City and Liceo Marco Foscarini of Venice, and from the will of students and teachers to bring the invaluable experience of a Model United Nations to a broader spectrum of students and staff in their own school. A Model United Nations is a simulation of the debate and committees of the United Nations. Participants follow a strict protocol and rules of procedure. Delegates are informed of the country to which they have been assigned some time before the event so as to prepare adequately. A delegate representing an assigned country must respect the actual position of that country on the issues being debated and endeavour to obtain approval of a resolution written together with delegates of allied states. The fourth Foscarini Model United Nations in 2017 will be bi-lingual, introducing French for the UNESCO sessions, which will also be used alongside English for procedures. Figures This year’s FOSCAMUN will involve 300 youngsters in all, 125 delegates plus 24 commission presidents, vice-presidents and moderators, alongside 150 youngsters who will be handling the organization of the event.
