This restaurant is a Local Favorite. We went on our last day in Florence and the Food was delicious!! Seating is more communal, or was when we were there. You may get placed at a table with strangers but I think it makes the experience a lot of fun. This place was packed!

A little hole in a wall place what is absolutely amazing! Have returned 3 times while in florence and every meal has been memorable and breathtaking! Best roast pork we have ever had! Anything you would order it won't disappoint! Great portions and good house wine at very reasonable cost! Get there early to get a table and enjoy the experience!
Simple, quick, delicious. The size of the bistecca may scare you but don't give up! We shared it with another couple sharing the table with us, so we also had the chance to have the tomato pasta, which was also amazing.
La Trattoria Mario seems to be one of those historic and traditional neighborhood restaurant with a mix of tourist and local crowd. The atmosphere is genuine and the staff mainly speaks Italian, but it's not an issue to order your food as you have the classic local specialties like the steak fiorentina, some beef stew, pastas... I have to admit that the quality of the food is really good and prices are reasonable while the waiters could have been more welcoming though I suspect the language barrier didn't help. Overall, it's a great place for an authentic experience!
If you want a true Italian experience come here. One of the best meals I've had on our Italy trip and the beef stew is absolutely incredible. Don't be put off by the language barrier they'll help you translate their menu. Absolutely incredible!
