If you are near Florence, visiting this historical wine cellar and ordering a Florentine Steak and family Chianti is a MUST! We visited Italy over a two week period and tried multiple Michelin Star restaurants and other fine dining establishment. The steak at Buca Lapi was the best bite of the entire trip. The staff was very attentive and kind. The service flowed well for an overall incredible experience!

It is one of the best steaks I have had so far. The meat is medium done on the outside and rare in the inside; juicy and tender, and the fat just melts in your mouth. Florentine steak at its best to say the least. We had the spinach and roasted potatoes on the side. We also had their pasta and tomato soup to start, both of which were quite flavorful and authentic! The desert was nice too. The restaurant requires reservation (so call ahead early) and if you are a steak lover and have only one meal in Florence, you shouldn't miss it all. The steaks are pricey (100 Euro for 2), but its well worth it. We tried the steak at La Giostra the night before (which was also very nice), but hands down, Buca Lapi wins because of the quality and cooking of the meat. Service was fantastic! Fernando was prompt and gracious as you would expect from an Italian host!

Had the most fantastic dining experience here. Hidden little gem in a beautiful city. You can have a huge perfectly cooked steak or some traditional italian pasta dishes. Dessert was delicious and the service was top notch. 5 out of 5 stars. Loved it!
