Chioggia's cathedral, built in/by 1627. Interesting artwork inside. The old bell tower from 1347 stands in the square beside the cathedral. On the main street, direction of the train station rather than the sea. Near several smaller churches.

On the opposite side of the promenade is the Cathedral (Duomo) from the 17th century with many elements of earlier church that were there since the 11th century. Built by the famous architect Baldassare Longhena. The cathedral is dedicated to the saints of Chioggia patrons, Felice e Fortunato. The cathedral is beautiful in its simplicity and leaves a rich impression of monumentality. The altars were made by great Venezian masters Jacopo Palma il Giovane and Francesco Rosa. Next to the church is the bell tower, in the Romanesque style, the Tempietto (small temple), in which it is the oldest art work in the city, polyptych by famous painter Paolo Veneziano. Beautiful Cathedral.

Luogo storico sito all'inizio della città.Tra le tante opere d'arte essa contiene i santi protettori (Felice e fortunato ).
Ho capito che sono ateo, ho capito che sono sfigato, ma mi sono fatto 200km per vedere questo bellissimo luogo di culto e l'ho trovato chiuso. Posso però dire la mia impressione da fuori. Edificio di mezza imponenza, color marrone (direi \marrone sporco di smog\). Portone di ingresso massiccio (ma chiuso, per l'appunto) con attaccate le direttive su come comportarsi durante le funzioni (causa covid) e soprattutto gli orari delle SS. Messe. Circondata da marmo calpestabile, questa chiesa è circondata da un comodo marciapiede con vari passaggi pedonali che danno sui lati opposti delle strade che la circondano. Se non sbaglio è presente anche un campanile (credo di media altezza), anche se non ricordo il lato in cui si trova. Consigliatissima.
Una bellissima cattedrale. Ora in restauro.attrbuita al Longhena, stesso architetto che ha costruito la chiesa della \Madonna della salute\ fantastica opera a Venezia.
