Oh Sant’Agata, you are so beautiful. This cathedral is like no other, deep with history. Read the story of this saint and her death, and you’ll be moved. For tourists, this is a beautiful cathedral that, in February, converts into ground zero for one of the biggest festivals and, well, parties in all of Sicily. Not to be missed !!!

This is an amazing Cathedral to visit as it is quite magnificent inside and out. It was first constructed between 1078-1093 and over the years has been damaged a lot, the worst being an earthquake in 1693 which left it in ruins. The current appearance baroque in style has three floors with Corinthian Columns in granite. It is a stunning piece of architecture well worth seeing if you are visiting Catania.
