We are fan of.onsen (Japan) and any thermal springs. We experienced some that were hotter, but Saturnia is a special one. The water is not very hot, but still slightly warmer than body temp, but the cascade is gorgeous, with the sulphur smell and steam that characterize hot springs. It's very popular, and people start to swarm the place from 7 am until late night. You have a small window to shoot without the crowd, a few minutes between the sky lightens up and the arrival of he first 20-30 people. Best is to arrive around 5, and enjoy the place for yourself in the dark, then get ready to shoot before 7 am. We were there on the 19th of September and the sunrise was at 7. So 6:50 was still dark, and suddenly you start to see details. There are a few dry spots to leave some.clothes, and towels (some cowgrass patches that grow on the edges of the pools, or the door of the watermill where you can hang stuff ). It's a good popular and family exit, and thanks to some local people, it's still relatively clean. When we arrived around 5 am, we saw two policemen riding their bikes around, so the place is quite safe. In

I gave it 5 stars because it really is amazing to have a natural hot spring along the side of the road for free. Things to know - if you have those rock beach shoes, wear them they help a lot with the roughness of the rocks. Parking is available for free and we managed to park our mini bus there. There is a toilet. There was also a small café there after the parking and before the springs. There isn't much shade so bring your umbrella if you have one. We went in the middle of the week in the middle of the day and it was busy but we still managed to find a little bath/cove area for our family to lie around in. You will smell like smelly eggs afterwards :) It was a fun treat along our trip in the area.

Beautiful place, all free and naturally created by nature. Warm water where you can use hydro massage and long relaxation. I recommend it to everyone, I will come back for sure :)

Very nice place and completely free. The water is just a little above body temperature and very nice. Of cause, it's a natural spring so it smells a bit of sulfur. Keep in mind that this is one of Tuscany's main attractions, so expect to find lots of people. It still remains open during the COVID outbreak, and most people after entering in the water takes of the mask, so a little caution is advised.

Nice site but quite far away from the touristic cities. The water is very warm but outside of the water it's cold. There are no lockers or changing cabins so preparing for that is smart. There is enough parking space. If that is full you can't enjoy the water as it will be to crowded. The restaurant is good and has reasonable prices.
