Great place but can be better. We are in Viareggio recently we came to Fappani 3 times. 1 x for breakfast great coffee and pastries. 2x for dinner - we like the seafood pasta it is fresh and tasty although they have limited choices of wine and menu. The guy who served us 3x (tall dark and slim) is very friendly, attentive and fast. Located in Viareggio Esplanade we love its cozy, relaxed ambiance.

This place is a real disappointment. I used to come here almost every day when I am in Viareggio. I dont like the service and quality of food lacks of that kick it had in the past. Sorry.

Half of menu was not available. So I ordered anchovies with some kind of butter and bread for 14 euro. And I get a can of anchovies with simple butter and toast... Don't go there....

The food is pretty good (esp. pastas and pizzas etc.), however the service has been a let down at least half of the time I was there. Half of the outside seating seem to be served by a tall dark haired guy (I think his name is Matteo), who is most of the time unfriendly and high-strung - and quite often is just rude. You can wait for him for 10 min just to bring the menu, or he can forget to bring your drinks (but still charge for them), or he can start serving the customers who just came in, while you are already waiting for him for 10 min. Some other waiters are better, but unfortunately you can't choose one. Once he even made a scene when another waiter tried to serve his table (which he was ignoring himself). Bottom line: the service should improve to match the food experience. I actually stopped going there because of this patchy service.

The service was not nice. They did not care about my gluten allergy: they brought me the ice cream I ordered with a biscuit I couldn’t eat, when I made them notice the mistake they just told me to take it off not caring about contamination. Despite everything the dishes are good.
