A great apartment booked with Airbnb great location and very roomy apartment and tell host Manuela and BHI staff could not have been more helpful.
I'm here as a study-abroad student from the states. Everything has been great so far, including the location and the space. While I love that the Porta Portese is right outside my window, the windows aren't very well sealed so the sound comes in clearly. Additionally, the small bathroom has a tenancy to flood. Despite these issues, everyone is extremely kind and the amenities included are great.
Good sized room with a nice balcony. Bathroom was a bit small and leaky
As an abroad student, this works just fine. Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty, but other than that, it's good enough for what I need.
To preface, I rarely write reviews about places, but I wanted to make people considering this place aware. Beware- Many schools students studying abroad pick this place. There are a few major down falls most students found in general. First, there were many parts of the facility broken- such as the door locks, the shutters to cover the windows, and toilets. Next several students noticed an ant infestation in their kitchens. Lastly, they have "check out" fees that are huge if you don't follow them to a pin. Not only happened to myself, but other students in the program a month after we left. Charged us a considerable amount for disorder because we piled our sheets together at the end to make it easier for the maids. While there were quite a few downfalls, the location was awesome.
Total shakedown. Expect to leave here paying at least 300 Euro in fines (taking too long to shower, leaving the lights on too long, not cleaning your apartment thoroughly, etc. are all fine-able offenses). The accommodations are incredibly overpriced for the location. If you can get to the building from the train-stop without getting killed in the ultra shady area surrounding BHI then you just have to step over the glass and homeless people sleeping on your doorstep. Furthermore, it is incredibly easy for outsiders to enter the building, and I have seen it done. Inside the room itself the warm water does not work, the wifi does not work, the oven does not work, the stove does not work, many lights in the building do not work, and the elevator does not work. If you ever have the audacity to ask for repairs you will be ignored for weeks. BHI is a cheap shakedown looking to take advantage of vulnerable foreigners.
