The most important Abbey in Rome dedicated to St.Paul

This is a very quiet and peaceful abbey, located on the outskirts of Rome. It may be relatively inconvenient to get here (nearest Metro station is Laurentina). However, it is a good place for prayer and reflection. Enjoy the walk in from the main road, where you will be met with a large statue of St. Benedict. There are three churches within this complex and I wished I had half a day to spend here. Don't forget to drop by the shop near the entrance, where you can buy good beer, chocolate and oil made by the monks.

One of the most touching pilgrim places ever visited. The place where they had imprisoned St. Paul is the heart of the place. The tiny cubicle like prison cell is awe inspiring and prayer provoking. Spent quite some time meditating what St. Paul had been through. Not a crowded place compared to other pilgrim places in Rome.
