Great food. Decent service. Reasonable prices. Nice ambience, recommended overall for a traditional Roman culinary experience

Recommended by a well travelled and discerning Italian friend, Trattoria Perilli did not disappoint. With the shades drawn from outside you wonder if the place is even open, but walk inside and it is bursting with life and the chatter of content patrons. Make a reservation or you will have to wait for a table, but it is well worth the wait. The dishes are plentiful in the traditional Roman way. The melon prosciutto is refreshing and savoury. Finish with the tiramisu. Great value.

5/5 pasta carbonara was amazing ! I would go back just for it. 4/5 The ambiance is old school, I felt I was back in the 80’... not saying it’s bad. 3/5 Disappointed that the bread was cold and dry, not homemade. 5/5 service was good, I only ordered the pasta carbonara and they didn’t pressure me to take an appetizer or something else.

Yes, this is a very traditional place and has a history of great food. But this may be a thing of the past. My experience was not great: The traditional dosh (2nd picture was tasteless and very little amount of food was served). The carbonara was alright but have tasted way better in Italy. The service was definitely not good. I only speak of our waiter but he had a rather unpleasant humor and comments to make as well as working with disdain and unfriendly body language.

AVOID. Disappointing experience, mediocre and overpriced pasta (15 for a Carbonara). The Carbonara was an insult to traditional Roman cuisine. The bread wasn’t fresh either despite the 2/head coperto.
