The wines here are delicious and the food as well. The bruschetta was good but we wanted more topping. The grilled vegetables and fish tasted very good, but the pasta was amazing! The pasta was super full of flavors. The only thing was that we ordered a second bottle of wine and they gave another kind of wine openend while we wanted the same. But it was still a good one. Over all I recommend it!

Not sure if the reviewers that gave this place 5 stars have ever eaten good or fresh food, but to future visitors be warned that literally every dish on the menu is frozen. It is not fresh fish, not even the Bolognese is cooked fresh. On top of that, you’re greeted by a very sour looking man, does not make you feel welcome at all. I believe the other review that said he gave a 6 year old child the finger...he looks the type. I would not recommend this place. Edit to reply to the owner: I wasn’t aware Bolognese was also bought at the fish market since that was also marked as frozen? And a day in the freezer is still frozen fish, though I do agree no food should go to waste.

Do not judge this restaurant by its entrance. It doesn't look too fancy from the outside and you may be hesitant to enter as I was but you will not be disappointed by the food. I went with my GF and we were the only two there since we arrived 30 minutes before closing time during lunch. We were greeted by the owner, a French lady who has called Mazara Del Vallo home for the last 36 years. My GF being a vegetarian was helped in choosing items from the menu and specific vegetarian dishes were tailored for her by the owner. I ordered a seafood specialty (can't recall its name) and upon tasting it, I immediately felt taken back to mom's cooking - the experience was a bit overwhelming. Needless to say, the cooking was way beyond what I was expecting, real love was put into every dish. My spaghetti was a perfect audente with fresh parsley, mussels, and calamari giving the dish maximum flavor. That combined with the exceptionally nice wine, we had the best dinner in a long time. And then desert came. Desert was tiramisu which was made by Jeannie's daughter. By this time, everything we had eaten was perfectly executed, and an average tiramisu would not have ruined our day. Instead, we got the best tiramisu we had ever eaten. I wished to have taken a picture of it but it was gone before I had a chance to. We had been to several restaurants in Sicily and were not really impressed as we would hoped - the irony is that it took a French lady to honor sicilian food. Damn, that was good food.
