Best tour of our trip to Italy! Francesco took our group of 4 adults and 4 kids through the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. He was super knowledgeable unhurried and patient with us, and the tour was fantastic. He spoke English fluently and was great with the kids. First off, the site and subject matter was fascinating and spectacular, but we were able to learn so much more from Francesco than we could have from a large group tour or self guided using a Rick Steves Podcast. Could not recommend this tour more, absolutely fantastic experience. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Francesca was a wonderful tour guide! She was very passionate and knowledgeable about the Vatican. We were extremely impressed by her professionalism. The Vatican museum is so large that we did not expect to see and learn as much as we did. She was able to answer any questions we had and would alter her tour in order to accommodate us. She came prepared with books to show the development of the Vatican overtime and other images you cannot see in person. Although you can certainly not learn all there is to know about the Vatican in one day, Francesca was able to give us a very in-depth yet easy to understand tour that helped us to appreciate the vast history of Vatican City. She really made our time in the Vatican unforgettable and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone visiting the Vatican!

We booked a Vatican tour on 12/23 and a Colosseum tour on 12/24/17. Agata was our guide both days and she was absolutely fabulous! We are so glad that she was our guide for both days. Not only did she provide so much information for us, but we were able to get to know her a little and discuss Italian culture, as well. It was so interesting to see the parallels in our lives. If you want the Vatican, Colosseum and the Roman Forums brought to life, this is the place to book your tours. We highly recommend doing the tours privately as we were able to ask questions throughout and have a more personal experience. Agata took all of the time that we needed and showed a genuine interest in our family. In addition to my husband and I, our group consisted of my 70 year old parents, our 21 year old son and our 17 year old daughter. Agata was able to easily communicate with all of us. Throughout the rest of our European travels, we repeatedly sang Agata’s praises. I must admit that prior to our Vatican tour none of us really had any interest in art or art history. During the planning process, when I would mention an art museum, I received a negative reaction. Much to our surprise, Agata was able to teach us so much about the artwork in the Vatican that it gave us a true appreciation. We found ourselves really enjoying the artwork throughout the other European cities that we visited. We went to the Louvre in Paris and our son, who previously had no desire to go, actually enjoyed it and was repeatedly referring back to things that Agata taught us. For that, we will forever be grateful! I really could go on and on about our tours with Agata! Tours with Tom is definitely the company to book with!

After spending a lot of time comparing the various private tours offered for the Vatican, I decided on Tours of the Vatican with Tom & his Team for a number of reasons, but I was mostly influenced by the fact that 97% of the reviews were 5-star, with 0% as 1 or 2-star. I am very happy to add my 5-star review to the hundreds of others for this tour. First of all, e-mail communications were EXTREMELY timely, with Selvaggia responding to my questions at all hours of the day or night, even on weekends. Secondly, the instructions on purchasing our Vatican tickets, traveling from our hotel to the Vatican Museums, and meeting our guide were perfect, including providing contact information for our guide, Francesco, in the event we ran into some delay. Of course, the best part of the experience was Francesco, who had studied history and could easily answer any question we could generate. Francesco made the tour very personal by giving us options and asking us which areas we would prefer to see. The Vatican is obviously much too large to see in a few hours, so having the opportunity to choose which options we would prefer was a huge advantage. Francesco did a great job steering us away from crowds, which is something that is a lot easier when there are only two people rather than a group of people. He did a great job by providing just the right amount of information at each stop along the way. If we had any questions, he was happy to provide as much detail as we would like. We really couldn’t be happier with this tour, and my wife and I highly recommend it.

I have nothing but praise for our experience. Our tour guide was Maria & she's absolutely wonderful to have. She was very knowledgeable, considerate and accommodating. We were very to thankful to have her. We booked a private tour for Colosseum & Roman Forum in Sept. We are a family of 8 and it works out cheaper to have a private tour compared to other commercial group tours. We set our own pace and finished comfortably. Last but not least, emails with Selvaggia was quick, smooth and easy. I highly recommend this company.
