It is a historical theatre in the heart of Modena where there are good operas, concerts and exhibitions almost every week. It is attended by a lot of people who still like the traditional old theatre evenings. Most of the people who come here are over forty years of age.

The Teatro Comunale is a stunning theatre that offers all sorts of performances. Going in is like taking a step back in time, it's been so well-preserved and loved! Absolutely worth seeing if you can get there. It's right in the centre of Modena, so it shouldn't be too hard to find ;)

A local theatre that never ceases to impress. Built on the 19th century, it's a gathering point for Modena's cultural elite (just about anybody who can appreciate fine arts, really). The theatre may have a limited scope compared to Bologna, but it offers a great balance of ballet, opera and concerts. It's more than enough for a town of 180,000.

This historic theatre is an absolute gem. The theatre is beautiful inside. The acoustic is fantastic and the quality of the operas is usually very good.

Our local XIX century theatre hosts every year an interesting opera season from October to April (plus concerts, ballet and opera program for kids). Just be quick to get the tickets. There is an impressive backstage and a really fascinating top flor (if you are lucky to see it in a private tour) with an open room scenography lab, one of the last left Italian handcrafted set design production
