Such a great monument to visit, you can have a great view from one of the narrow streets. Also, you can go inside pray if you love to or you can. Only visit. You don't need to pay entrance fee or something like that.

Spacious interior really gives the empty space and scale for humility. You feel small inside. Which was the whole point. Large paintings adorn the circular design. Worthy of a visit.

On our way from Piazza Duomo, trying to find the way back to our car, a duome appeared at the end of a small street - and urged us to find out what it was. (We hardly ever use a tourist guide when we visit places and so we risk to miss something - or be surprised to discover something amazing). And it was astonishing, the Basilica which, somehow hidden behind the houses, opened up. I took some pics from inside, but the photos hardly can show what we experienced here.

Uno dei monumenti del centro di Pistoia da visitare. Pianta circolare con cupola ottogonale. La cupola è la terza più grande d'Italia dopo San Pietro in Vaticano e Santa Maria del Fiore a Firenze. Il progetto della cupola è di Vasari. All'interno della chiesa un ritratto della Madonna con Bambino legato ad uno dei soliti miracoli conditi da pianto di sangue.
