Nice guided tour of part of the castle. Worth a visit. You must write to book a tour ahead of time. Guide was very nice and knowledgeable.

A beautiful site both inside and out. We are grateful to have been able to see this historic building - amazing photo ops too! However, we were a bit disappointed with the staff who were quite moody and not interested in answering our questions.
The castle is pretty good , the visit is quite cheap. I would suggest a visit in spring, because there is no heating system in there and it was freezing inside. Another thing, do not expect to visit the whole castle... Many parts of it are not available to visit
Excellent, enormous historic home of the dukes of Saxony. Visits are by guided tours - we caught the 10am tour (3 floors and the gardens were all closed but the informative tour still took an hour and a half!) which was conducted in Italian but there are information boards in each room. Photos without flash are allowed everywhere. Highly recommended. Wheelchair can be borrowed.
